Ok so since I managed to buy everything I wanted in my Oct/Nov wish list, I decided to start a new one and see if I can achieve my own goals. This might be a tougher list though, coz I'm gonna be behind in christmas presents and perhaps new house bits and pieces. Oh well, goals are good for oneself.
I'm actually pretty satisfied with my previous list, it made me happy. =)

1. New pair of jeans. I've been over-wearing this ONE pair for a little too long and the zipper is finally driving me crazy. I'm not too fond of the other pairs I have anymore.

2. Good pair of casual everyday shoes/sandals. One that doesn't look too shabby for say, a meet with a client without the need to wear heels. I've already been given the money for this by my family, I just need to find a pair (that's the big challenge with shoes and jeans for me).

3. Enrol into a dance class again. I miss it so much and i'm getting wayyyyyyy too unfit.

4. NAKED palette or any other great quality eyeshadow palette. I think it's time I get a nice one for myself.

I must say the last two are secondary to this one thing I plan to get within these two months but will not list it here. If I have a chance to get that and not have enough for #3 & #4, I won't mind pushing those to Feb/March =p !

This is mainly for myself to remember, but if you feel the sudden urge to provide the funds for the following luxuries, my eternal friendship (and some cookies from my secret hideout) will be my thank you for your kindness. =)

1. Lauren Luke full brushes set - she has been such an inspiration to my makeup learning process, I feel it's only right to give back to her. Plus, she's so genuine and I feel her self-picked brushes are gonna be worth it. It'll be a great addition to my work brushes.
Price: RM150

2. A few nail polishes and imported makeup products at bargain prices. My nail polish collection is actually pretty small if I threw out the ones I hate (texture-wise, drying-ability wise and etc etc.). I keep them so I don't feel so lousy about my collection. haha. Shopping at this online store would greatly make my happy, I believe. Especially since it's all at bargain prices, and I do want to try out the makeup products that I can't buy off the shelves here in Malaysia. Spending RM150 would get me free shipping. It'll be easy to hit that and get loads of goodies I'll be happy with.

3. A good curling iron that has multi barrel sizes and a straightener , all in one would be awesome. I haven't found any such thing so feel free to recommend! Will most likely have to buy it online as well so shipping might cost a bit.

4. Okay maybe I should stop. This is after all just Oct/Nov list. haha. hmm.

the one about the steamer

So I've been steaming my clothes these past two months and wondering why everytime I do that, there's this smell of burning electronics. Being your regular female, I naturally assumed it was the chemical contents of the dodgy Subang water that I was using to fill the steamer with. I switched to filtered water but still that same smell. Nothing from the steamer looked like it was having any problems and nothing from the multiplug extension it was connected to.

Ah but that was where the mistake lay. Yesterday I looked at the OTHER multiplug extension that the aforementioned multiplug extension is connected to. Just to say hello, y'know. And I see this:

yikes. yeah. indeed.

this is the plug of the first multiplug extension. which has now melted into the second extension, therefore, I can't throw out the first unless I try prying it out of the second. fabulous.

it seems that the smell would only come when I use the steamer though. there's no smell when I use my phone charger, keyboard, printer or..um..epilator. so..........can I just not use the steamer with this one and leave the rest be?

My 10cents summary of the royalwedding if you're not already sick of those two words.

1. Sister aka Maid-of-Honour = dress material TWO THUMBS UP! so gorgeously flowy and seamless and perfectly cut.

2. The dress - the lace and interesting gill-like train was nice. simple design, I suppose overall it was much prettier than Princess Di's wedding dress which was....well. yea.

3. You'd think the Prince could afford Yun Nam or even a hair piece! ANYTHING would have been better!

4. Hosts - would anyone you ask ever say that they DIDN'T think the dress was "beautifullll"?? aren't there more interesting questions to ask?-_-

5. back to the dress - the boring tiara, the tudung veil, the hairstyle, even the makeup: =/ i didn't like it. Her smudge-y eyeliner gives me the impression that it's hiding something.

6. The Abbey - wow. the view from behind the couple, straight out of a poster. the high ceilings, I imagine it must be breathtaking to stand in that hallway. The trees down the aisle, haha nice alternative for a garden wedding.

7. The crowd - I'm in awe of the support the people have for the monarchy.

8. Camilla and Charles look as old as the Queen herself.

9. Thumbs up to the LadyGaga-wannabe with her crazy hat seated behind the queen.

10. Overall, not my idea of an ideal fairytale wedding, but it did have elements that anyone would like, I suppose.

Now we can all get back to our fabulous lives and dream of snatching our own 29yr old balding Prince.

Traffic polish

Stuck in 6pm traffic today, I managed to clean off old nail polish, paint this new colour on, and clean everything up AND take a few photos including this one - all at ONE traffic light! Subang is a horrid place to be in. But I did get my nails done so time well spent anyway, I'd say, haha!

I love this colour! Got it from a store in Sunway Pyramid. Bottle says Looc ('cool' spelt backwards I guess? doesn't come close to Pink's "if you're too school for cool" though).

It's from Korea so I figure the quality should be good, I'll find out soon enough but so far it looks good! Looking for more Asian alternatives to OPI. =)

My definition of the difference between wedding and bridal manicure:
Wedding manicures are more for us who are attending someone's wedding soon.
Bridal manicures are, obviously, for the bride and her bridesmaids.

That said, this first one is a bridal manicure that I did for my sister who was the Maid of Honour at her best friend's wedding last week at Cameron Highlands.

And this, was what I did for myself for that same wedding. (I wasn't a bridesmaid so this would be a "wedding manicure") =p
Wore a darrkkkkk forest green shimmer dress with it. Originally wanted the nails to look like lace but when I curved it round the nail, it looked less lace-y. will keep it straight across next time. quite happy with it anyway =)

Bizarre dreams are back!

last night i was kidnapped by movie-like white ppl. It was so unfair. THEY looked like they were IN a movie, but the rest of us looked like we were in a regular dream. Their movements and visuals and colours and all looked movie-edited. we looked plain.

Anyhoo, they shoved me in a tiny tiny L-shaped room with cupboards of useless books and a small window. I thought "hmm this is quite silly, why shove me in a place that only i can fit, then how they gonna force me out later?" But whatdyaknow, a fat white dude managed to fit in that tiny space although i can't recall what he came in for.
When he left, I looked out and saw Darren Ashley - i wanted to call out but was afraid they'd hear me from behind the door for sure. so all i could do was watch him walk away. From across the road, to the next shop...to the next shop...to the next shop. yea it was depressing.

Next scene: suddenly i'm with two others (not sure if it was Jane Chong & Darren Ashley) and we're in a house that seems to belong to someone familiar. We're under some kind of house arrest by the same people, and we manage to get permission to go upstairs to drink water. We go into a room where we attempt to lock the doors intending to climb out to the roof. *whispered conversation blah blah that i cant remember* but then either jane or i end up walking back downstairs to "decoy" so they wouldnt suspect. and there was something about the ankles of our jeans getting wet.

i duno. wth right?

I spritzed some of the stuff from the sunny orange bottle onto my palm and almost immediately its sweet refreshing smell filled the entire room. I breathed it in, a nice deep refreshing type of breathing in. It smelled so good, and oddly, a distant memory of a well-off childhood friend stepped into my mind. Much like the sudden smell of granma that you sometimes get while walking past the most unlikely places like the woodcutter next to the bakery.
Strange how memories can be dug up like that - by a smell.
Yea, rich people smell of serum.

This time, I'm with a friend (female, but that's all I remember now) and we're just chatting and babysitting a roomful of little kids. We're passing out helium balloons to them to play with.
It's indoors, and suddenly a lightweight little girl starts to float up to the ceiling with her helium balloon.

I quickly tell her to hold her breath and she starts floating back down. Then in her excitement, she squeals,breathing in at the same time and floats back up.

This leads to a big *lightbulb* moment in my head. I excitedly discuss what's on my mind to my friend and we decide, We Are Going To Make This A Plaything For Kids.

The next scene is us outside this massive Room construction in the middle of an outdoor playground. The inner walls/floor of the room are padded and look really comfortable, there's a little door to one side. It's almost like a square room with rounded edges. Inside, are a few little kids excitedly flying around the room with helium balloons strapped to their clothes and a little gadget for them to float higher or lower. Some are touching the high ceiling and calling out to their mommies "LOOKKKK!!! LOOKKKKKKK, MOMMMMMMYYYY, LOOOKKKK"

(hee, awwww)

And there we are right outside, fixing the gadgets and balloons to more little kids for free. We look uber happy to be doing this. Patent pending already. hahahah.

Next scene. We're walking away from the outdoor-indoor room towards some kinda Chatuchak-ish market (oh, we're in a really nice autumn-y city, btw) and randomly talking to passersby about our new playground addition. We go right into a waterpark and talk to parents there about it too, telling them that we knew their lil' ones would be tired after the waterpark, but they can always bring them tomorrow. And the parents sound excited too. We also tell them it's going to be free until the patent is approved, then we'll just charge kids 50c or something. =D

*this dream happened either a day or two after the previous strange dream i posted up, but i've kept it in my drafts and forgotten about it til now

This time, I was back in Sinthanee 1, except the houses were more modern, fancier and bigger. I realized my neighbors were all FLC people (Darren/Tammy's learning centre in ChiangRai). I was at some form of party in one of their houses where there was this room that led to the outdoors. Yea.. like, the woods. But it starts off as a room. hmm, kinda like the Narnia concept now that I think of it.Anyway, so I'm outside of this room and watching the younger kids play in the pool (yes, the house had a pool) while the bunch of kids closer to my age are all in that room planning. It was some kind of play, I think.

This went on for quite a while (the details fuzz up here) and the next scene I remember is of Rachel Fox ..She's in a long flowy robe/gown, leading everyone else into the woods. There's a lot of nice wind at this point (for the robe to blow-in-the-wind to create drama, I assume).Most of the FLC kids are following her and everyone's happily chatting and planning this play..or maybe it was some kinda reality-....um..reality...story? *insert more fuzz*

The next scene goes into a university hall. It's full of farang people and these include again, the FLC ppl..
This time, though, I'm with Hsu Lynn (my Malaysian-Kiwi friend,heehee) ....and we're rushing to make it for an audition in this hall. We're late - "everyone else has already auditioned", but then Hsu Lynn takes centerstage (insert "oooooh"). All eyes are on her. I take a front row seat.

(at this point in my dream, I have no clue what she's auditioning for, only that she seems to be vying for a really difficult but great spot and I seem to be there to support her)

Hsu Lynn starts a dance routine. It's kinda like modern-jazzy-contemporary-ish.

At first I don't get it. So I start to worry about what the judges will think.

Then she starts to pull these interesting moves that, though I never saw the other auditions, I thought none of them would have done.

There's this pretty judge who seems to be the leader. (i think i knew her in the dream but it's all fuzz now). She starts to whisper to the other judges pointing out happily at Hsu Lynn as she dances.Then she stands up and announces in some fuzzy language that Hsu Lynn is chosen (I don't think I ever knew what it was for...)

Yyyyyyeaaaa. So I've been having pretty random dreams.

...a colony of crazy friends who can entertain them seemingly endlessly. thankfully, i have some for myself, and they include this bangkok bunch who are capable of: (as far as my knowledge goes, and i know it doesn't go far enough)

- dressing up as Pippi Longstocking and Alladin's Genie..
- jell-o-ing their leader's staplers for him to discover the next day..
- sticking a 101 post-it notes alllllllll over their leader's office for him to discover the next day
- buying a freakishly-happy funky-hair-colored mannequin and sitting her in their leader's office for him to discover the next day (and naming her "Zelda splurtzsomething")
- dyeing their hair purple and blue and shaving a "hand of God" onto their little brother's head
- piercing their own and each other's ears
- taking over whole karaoke rooms to belt out such hits as "Barbie Girl" and "My Heart Will Go On" with much gusto. And all in formal attire too, no less.

Today I was in the LRT people-watching as I love to do.
In front of me stood a chubby tanned Chinese man, maybe in his late thirties. Maybe some mixed Nyonya blood thrown in.

He was balding slightly, dark circles lay underneath his bespectacled beady eyes and he had the air of someone who had someplace important to be at.
I glanced lazily at him and was about to shift my focus to someone more interesting when I heard a familiar sound.
It was a faint fast-paced rhythm coming from a mobile phone ringtone.
I snapped my head back to Mr.Thirties-maybe-Forty just as he pulled out his mobile phone.

From the corners of my eyes, I could see that the music had snapped quite a few people to his attention.
Bravely, he picked the call up just as the song went into its second line... "You..change your mind....like a girl...changes clothes...yea, you.....P.M.........hello?"

Frustration is.....reading "Do not EVER remove disk while formatting!"

Frustration is.....re-inserting disk only to read "No Files Found"
Frustration is.....realizing you don't have a copy of those precious files on another disk.
Frustration is.....when you've lost this same copy before but it was painstakingly salvaged.

I'm enjoying band practices more these days!! weeeeee

Firstly, we are currently practicing a new original song and I'm liking how it's going so far=)
It's funny, though. We first decided we were gonna try to be a more "happyhappyjoy" band, not so emo. But as we chose our cover songs and now as we write new stuff...

It's All Eeeeemmoooo-ish!! LOL

We're starting to say that we're living in denial. heee

But so far, it's been fun lah, these guys are such a bunch of quirky,geeky,crazy,bi-curious,outrageouslyhomo, indian-loving, roti-eating boys who are so m.a.l.a.y.s.i.a.n.!! i love them la

1. This is "Nine", or Shrek as we call him coz he played the role during an ice-breaker.
He's got a nice toned voice, i suka!! plus he's lovable la, got that easygoing rocker look and style=)

2. Second fave is Fifi, whose voice is like wow in real life. Such a tiny and young girl but the suara power. and she's determined AND really sweet too=)
3. third fave of mine is Pija, but i got no picture with her!!=(
her powerful voice is more the rock/rnb strong-character type, as opposed to Fifi who's more of the sweet rnb ballad type.

I now wish I had done quite a few more things while i was there..bummer. oh well..

7 (friggin)Steps to...

1. Decide to dye your old dark-blonde hair back to basics the "healthy" way of henna.
1.1. Use the wrong henna. The kick-ass b.l.a.c.k. one that makes you look like you're wearing a wig.

2. Make your friend try to re-dye the kick-ass b.l.a.c.k to a gorgeous dark shade of ruby red that doesn't shoe because your hair's been henna'd kau-kau black.

2.1. Stress out a lil.

3. Wait 2 weeks before you decide to buy more bleach and attempt to re-do the whole mistake.
Bleach hair with hi-bleach for 4 hours to get it to a yucky orangeyellowblond. Leave no time for "error fixing".

3.1. Do the above on a Saturday before you have to stand onstage the next day.To ensure the "no time" rule.

4. Buy raspberry semi-permanent dye because the shop you drove to specifically for dyes had no other colors in permanent. Make sure it's 50% off. Also, buy a different commercial color (Bright Auburn) to mix match.

5. Mix & match for a whole day with the colors til your head hurts and you feel giddy from all the smells and reactions.

6. Be disappointed when it turns out looking mediocre.

7. Wait 2 days before you decide "ok this is NOT working, sista". And re-dye the entire section to....

Oh today was perfectttttt!!!
I was woken up by a familiar voice.
I drove out to have lunch with the familiar voice.
Then I had only One Class to teach. Sweet Meera, easy and very clever student.
We clapped out minims and quavers, and practiced drawing dotted crotchets.

Then I re-met up with the familiar voice and drove to 1U.
We met two other friends for drinks (teatime!), chatted about T.B. and how antibiotics are badddddddd. Then we split up and ambled off to watch silly movie Bedtime Stories.
Do not watch if you hate Adam Sandler.

A re-meet with one of the teatime friends and off we went for dinner.

I guess what I enjoyed was how the day was stress-free, laughter, easygoing plans, and no obligations..and NO WEIRD MOMENTS! hahahhaha glorious.

So here begins MY new year holidays (well, sorta. still have a few more classes)

I'm so excited wei!!!!! =)=)=)

I was at this huge wedding on Sunday. 800 people. 80 tables in SHANGRILA hotel.

Can you guess the color theme?

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the wedding reception of couple #1: Jo&Olivia.

Apparently they exceeded the 80 tables...This is The Wedding Planner.

These were at the entrance. Actually the one below not bad hor.quite narnia-ish with the lamps and all..
there was an ice carving too but i didn't manage to snap a shot.

I think the worst kinds of fears are the ones that aren't confirmed.
The ones you're not sure about.
The ones you don't dare ask about.
The ones that could destroy everything if found true/false/in-progress/done.

It's especially crazy-ing for a girl 'cause well..., she's more emotionally-driven.
Like when you happen to notice a pregnancy test kit in your sister's bin. How do you deal with that suspicion? What do you do with it?
